Bangkok trip Day 3

It's day 3....!! We headed to Platinum Fashion Mall once again because I wasn't satisfied. I was sick the other day so I didn't buy much. After that, we went to subiya mall, central world & the mall opposite platinum fashion mall. I couldn't remember the name. We didn't have time to go to Chatuchak as our flight is at 1pm and we had to check-in by 11am. What a waste.

After shopping, I went to do a really daring thing! Which is.... to cut my hair short. Omg. No choice, my hair is damaged and bf love short hair so I decided I should just do it. Friends around said that I looked mature in this hairstyle. What do you think?

To be continued......Stay tuned for day 4!!

Bangkok trip Day 2

It's day 2!!!!!! We woke up really early as we headed to bed at like 10pm? Buffet breakfast tasted quite alright but the varieties were really little. Thank god they cooked different dishes every morning! After breakfast, we headed to MBK. I can't believe we spent the whole day at MBK. I used up almost all of my money at MBK.

There were so many things to buy at MBK. Too much we couldn't even handle. We had to buy a shopping trolley bag to dump everything and continued shopping. I passed by this shop and I heard the shop owner shouting to this caucasian guy " 200 baht, 150 baht, 50 baht, okay free!!!!" You see how desperate they are to earn money.

There are so many "199 baht ($8)" bag shops around! You can get all the thai snacks in MBK if you are planning to buy back for relatives. I couldn't believe I spent like $40 on thai snacks?!?! MBK sells plenty of heineken, red bull singlets. And also for guys, the price of a shirt depends on the size.

DAMN DELICIOUS PHAD THAI AT MBK FOOD COURT

350 baht ($14)
250 baht ($10)

Tips!!!!!

  •  In MBK, you can bargain all you want.
  •  Don't be too quick to buy shoes in MBK. (There are plenty of shoes stalls along the road selling  pretty trendy shoes at 100-199 baht!!!)
  •  If there are no muscular guys coming along with you, I suggest you get a shopping trolley bag along the road/Platinum Fashion Mall before heading to MBK. Shopping trolley bags are way cheaper there than in MBK.
  • Siam paragon is a rather high end shopping mall. Don't bother saving up too much money to shop at siam paragon. Spend it wisely at wholesale malls like Platinum Fashion Mall or chatuchak weekend market(Didn't get to go as we left Bangkok on saturday morning).

To be continued....Stay tuned for day 3!!!!!

Bangkok trip Day 1

I went to Bangkok last wed and flew back on sat with babe. We took Thai Airways. I still prefer SIA for sure! SIA's food and service are way better than Thai Airways! We bought the $199 groupon deal. It was an impromptu trip. I fell sick not long after we reached Bangkok. I felt so miserable that I didn't have the mood to shop. What a waste right. We went to Platinum Fashion Mall on day 1. I had to eat cup porridge for dinner because I was sick.

We stayed in Pratunam Pavilion hotel for 4D3N. It is a 3 star hotel located near malls like Platinum Fashion mall, MBK, Central world etc. It wasn't as bad as what those online reviewers commented. Don't expect too much from a 3 star hotel.

What's awesome?
- Great service
- Cosy
- Free wifi (Password reset everyday so you have to ask reception for new password every morning)
- Free buffet breakfast everyday
- Complimentary tuk-tuk (Provide free trip to Platinum fashion mall)

What's not awesome?
- Hotel located in alley (It gets quite creepy during the night)
- Limited varieties for buffet breakfast
- Noisy (You can hear people shouting, vehicles driving around. Quite annoying at times)

Tips!!!!
  • Buy 2 pieces and above in Platinum Fashion Mall to get the wholesale price. Not easy to bargain if you buy only 1 piece
  •  Take cab instead of tuk-tuk. Tuk-tuk tend to overcharge you. When you take cab, ask the cab driver to switch on meter.
  • Bring AT LEAST $500. Remember that Bangkok is a shopping paradise especially for girls. You wouldn't want to regret bringing insufficient amount!
  •  Try not to stay out too late as it gets really messy out there after 12am
  •  Sim Lim Square exchange rate is quite good. Can consider changing there :)
  • Go to this shop called 'dtac' at Basement 1, Platinum Fashion Mall if you wanna get an internet card. I paid 380 baht for unlimited access of internet for one week. It also includes 100 baht for you to call out. It's 3 baht/min when you call Singapore.
  • Dial 004 before you enter the mobile number. This enables you to call with a cheaper rate!

Day 2 to be continued....Stay tuned!
